LOST recap for 4/12

About last night...Why is it so hard for people to even remotely consider that the "Others" may be the good guys? Last night's show may have all but sealed my opinion that the "Others" are there for good, while the Losties are the ones who are being negative and blood thirsty.

Consider this: most of the killing so far has been done by the Losties. The only "other" to kill someone is Juliet, and that was to help Kate and Sawyer escape.

Here's my theory based on last night's information:

Juliet was brought to the island because the pregnant women were all dying, and the group on the island wanted to be able to sustain life through procreation. (Hadn't Ben mentioned that he was born on the island?).

She fails to turn it around, but mentions there is a shot if she was allowed to test her serum on a healthy woman back in Florida. Ben says that is not possible. That's when the plane crashes on the island, and it dawns on Ben that maybe there's a healthy pregnant woman on it.

Juliet then conducts her "control group" experiments on Claire. But the Losties are testy and wary of any outsiders to continue the test, hence the scheme Ban comes up with to win their trust.

In the meantime, to further the experiment, the manipulating Ben, knowing Kate's interest in Sawyer from Ethan's scouting ealry after the crash, allows Kate to hook up with Sawyer to create on "on island" conception to further study.

Now you have three seperate pregnancies to study, Claire, who was close to term when she landed, Sun, who's in her first trimester, and Kate, who conceived on the island.

The Others may be there to help, but then again the government says that, too.

Ethan is so ubiquitous, I have a feeling he has a twin brother (one for the island, one for the real world). Once again, Juliette was knocked "unconscious" before getting to the island. All of the characters so far have arrived on the island from unconsciousness. This is a huge plot hole that can be filled by whatever explanation they decide on.

Goodwin (Juliette's vendetta) killed that one tailie in cold blood. It's also looking like it wasn't Ethan that tried to kill Charlie. The one who is good at nooses and snares is the French woman.

It is also starting to appear that the Island has some sort of conscious will. That's why Ben was so surprised, because it decided Ben would die--when actually it was bringing Jack to Ben. There's obviously a third agent at work here.

I hope they get to find out how old Ben really is! I suspect he was born on the island, and like Shangri-La, didn't get older (since adulthood) for a thousand years or more.
